precious time with my oldest

I'm in love with Sunday afternoons. wade stayed at home with the little girls while they napped and emma and I got to visit the zoo. unfortunately the snake house was "closed" that day ;)!! anyway, when we arrived we were very surprised with a private event for their members and received "VIP" bracelets and a free train ride! Holla!


and unbeknownest to me, we also got to tour the new elephant building.


I was completely fascinated and emma was wondering why the elephant building did not have any elephants! but when the "keeper" {that's what they call themselves, not zookeeper but keeper} asked all the kiddos what elephants used their trunks for, emma's hand shot up which surprised me because of how timid she can be in unfamiliar groups.


stripes on stripes with keens. after she changed out of her church dress, emma got to pick her outfit today.


then her heighness requested cotton candy and the carousel. snap, snap!


and there is nothing quite like having one-on-one time with your children:


even if they REFUSE to look at your camera!
